Okay, I have decided not to consider myself to have failed induction if I include a small amount of sucralose, as in my favorite Heavenly Mousse, as long as the all-important RATIO of fat to protein to carbs is in line, along with daily totals. After all, this is how I did it the first time, why be MORE strict this time around? That's just setting myself up for failure! DOH.

** I bought some WAY-cool glass canning bottles for my water, since I gave up plastic permanently last year (except in case of emergency and piss-poor planning) HA!!! I keep 6 full bottles in the mini-fridge in my office at all times, and having cold water at my fingertips really helps me to drink more. I am also trying to remember to drink water FIRST when I think I am hungry, since a lot of the time I am probably more thirsty than hungry, in reality...

Amazing how much better I feel now that I gave myself permission to eat some Mousse. (Let's not even go into the psychological ramifications of THAT right now, hehehe....)
My calories were way low for the day after I'd entered my dinner, though my ratios were great, and though I am not hungry, and that reminded me that THAT IS WHY I created the Mousse recipe in the first place - it was part of my original "Up The Fat Experiment" back in 2000.... I determined back then, through journaling just like this, that I could eat a veritable boatload of calories as long as I kept my carbs under 20-30 net, with 70% of calories coming from fat, and less than 10% from carbs (5% is better)....
I also remembered that when I kept calories under 2000, which is what is "recommended" for my height and weight, I stalled out every time. I had to MAKE MYSELF eat more calories and fat regularly before my stubborn body would relax and let go of enough fat to allow beautiful wonderful ketosis to just do its thing, after the first three weeks of the diet .... I doubt things have changed, so I'll have to plan to eat more as I go along. I also need lots more veggies, I know, but induction is a short-term condition and that's just the way it goes, at first....

Well, this isn't even right anymore. I will change the log in my PC but darned if I have time to re-copy the graphic and all.... I got hungry late last night and at 11:30 I had a diet Coke (aspartame - baaaaad bad me!) with a cheddar and swiss cheese crisp. Probably another 500 calories and 3 additional carbs for the day...
ReplyDeleteMake that 4.1 additional carbs .... ugh.
